iPad apps

At Waun Wen we are using iPad technology to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum. We encourage pupils to think about how using technology enhances their learning.

We are aware that many children have such technology available at home and may want to purchase apps for independent learning or homework projects.

Below is a list of some apps recommended by the Swansea ICT team. If you wish to discuss an app or how iPads are being used at Waun Wen please contact the school.

Purchase the Director’s Pass to get all the extra scenes and characters. Cut out extra characters from the Camera Roll or import transparent PNG files via iTunes.

Stop-frame animation with precision editing and multiple scenes.
Can copy and paste multiple images from the Camera Roll.

As well as stop motion animation, the iStopMotion can also record time-lapse sequences.
Has the ability to use an iPhone, iPod Touch or a second iPad as a remote camera (via wi-fi) by using the Remote Camera App

Powerful vector drawing and animation app which alsp allows key framing and motion paths.
Drag and drop drawings onto the canvas, then use the timeline to animate the drawings.

Make your own animations with the help of Aardman Animations Studios, creators of Wallace & Gromit! This simple, easy to use animation app will have you creating your own stop-motion animations in no time!

Irregular Verbs
Past and present tense
Children need to fill in the missing gaps in the sentences. Can choose what sentences to include. Can add a number of players. Can keep a record of and email the results. Year 2 to Year 6
A word game (like the board game). Make as many words as you can by joining the letters together.
A fun game for children that promotes word building. Year 2 to Year 6
Homophones – Fun Deck
Choosing the correct homophone to fit in the sentence that is given.
Reads the sentence and the words for you. American voice. Key Stage 2
Spelling Notebook Free
