  • Calculating the mean, median, mode and range of a set of data
  • Solving data problems
  • Learning about the experiences of Jews during WW2
  • Evaluating the investigation about Morse Code
  • Planning to create a radio broadcast with Mr Brown
  • Writing a final draft of a recount during Text Type lessons
  • Writing a final draft of a first person profile during Welsh lessons
  • Discussing factual texts during guided reading sessions
  • Improving our swimming skills in the National Pool
  • Homework: Interpreting graphs (Due in Friday 27th October) Reminder: Year 5 & 6 are attending Cardiff Castle next Friday to enhance their knowledge about World War Two. Please ensure your child brings in their consent form.

  • Identifying the appropriate steps to reach a solution

  • Carrying out an investigation about Morse Code

  • Developing sentences during Text Type lessons
  • Discussing factual texts during guided reading sessions

Week beginning: Monday  25th September 2017

This week, we have been:

  • Multiplying by multiples of 10 (15 x 20)
  • Doubling and halving 3 digit numbers
  • Using the symbols < > and =
  • Solving place value problems
  • writing a diary entry of the 3 day Blitz in Swansea
  • investigating which materials are insulators and conductors
  • writing first person profiles in Welsh
  • Discussing factual texts during guided reading sessions
  • Improving our swimming skills in the National Pool

Homework: Maths – doubling and halving

Year 6 Week beginning: Monday  18th September 2017

This week, we have been:

  • Multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100
  • Writing 6 and 7 digit numbers into words
  • Solving place value problems
  • Identifying the countries involved in WW2 on a world map
  • Learning about the different parts of an electrical circuit
  • Discussing ‘strong’ passwords during ICT lessons with Mr Brown
  • Learning a recount text through the style of Pie Corbett
  • Discussing factual texts during guided reading sessions
  • Improving our swimming skills in the National PoolWell done to all of the pupils who took part in the cycle training! The trainers were very impressed with all of the pupils’ positive attitude and perseverance during the sessions!
