Safeguarding and Security

The Headteacher is the nominated Child Protection and Safeguarding Office. She has overall responsibility for the running of the school with your child’s care and safety in mind.

In the event of any concerns of a Child Protections nature, it may be necessary to contact other agencies for advice and / or support. The wellbeing of the children in the responsibility of all school staff. All staff have undertaken training in Child Protection Procedures and there and nominated First Aiders across the school staff. All staff have undertaken Restorative Practice training.

We take the security of the school very seriously. Visitors are only permitted to access the school via the main entrance. All visitors and asked to sign in and given a visitor badge to identify they from staff or LA officers. All staff and Governors are expected to undertake regular CRB checks. All students, supply teachers and regular volunteers much also have an up to sate CRB check prior to commencing work at the school.

Members of the teaching staff supervise the children for ten minuted before the start of the day and during breaks and four supervisory assistants are employed during lunchtime. Fire drills are carried out regularly and the school premises are checked for maintenance of a safe environment. P.E. equipment is regularly inspected.
